Hydrating cream with karité butter for dry skin and hair ends

Why wait for the perfect skin care treatment if you can make it yourself? This DIY recipe for a karité cream gives your skin and hair everything they need. Use Physalis bio Shea butter as the basis: a soft and cream-coloured butter, derived from the shea nuts found on the African karité tree. This rich butter, full of oleic and stearic acid, melts on contact with your skin and hydrates it intensively. It is perfect for soothing patches of dry and rough skin, as well as improving skin elasticity and protecting the skin in general. Also ideal for pregnant women and sensitive (baby) skin.

Strengthen the protective and nourishing effects by combining the shea butter with Physalis bio Jojoba vegetable oil. This light yellow wax, obtained from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, is quickly absorbed, without leaving behind a greasy layer, resulting in a skin that feels soft and supple.

Make your DIY karité cream complete with the addition of a few drops of Physalis bio True lavender essential oil. As well as having a soothing fragrance, this oil also has a calming effect and turns your care treatment into a moment of relaxing pleasure. What’s more, you can also use this cream as a nourishing hair mask to keep your hair shiny and healthy.

Are you ready for your own wellness moment? With this natural recipe, you can quickly and easily create your own care routine, perfectly matched to your own wishes and needs. Enjoy the power of pure ingredients and give your skin and hair the love they deserve.

Preparation of a hydrating cream with karité butter

  1. Melt the Physalis bio Shea butter au bain-marie in a heat-resistant bowl above a pan of gently boiling water. Occasionally stir the butter until it is full melted, so that the resulting substance is fluid.
  2. Remove the bowl from the pan and add the Physalis bio Jojoba vegetable oil. Stir thoroughly, so that the oil mixes evenly with the karité butter.
  3. Add the drops of Physalis bio True lavender essential oil for a soothing fragrance and a calming effect.
  4. Allow the bowl to stand at room temperature, so that the mixture can gradually cool down. Once cool, put the mixture into the fridge for roughly one hour, so that it can stiffen.
  5. As soon as the mixture is fully cooled and has congealed sufficiently, use a hand mixer to whisk the cream until it has a light and smooth consistency. This results in a soft and luxurious texture that will feel pleasing on the skin.
  6. Keep the finished cream in an airtight glass jar, so that it will remain fresh for longer. Use it whenever you feel the need for a delightful care moment.

Uses

  • On the skin: Care for and nourish your skin by applying the cream to any dry and rough patches and enjoy its deep hydrating effect that will make your skin feel supple in a matter of moments.
  • On your hair: Use the cream as a leave-in conditioner for the treatment of dry hair ends. It nourishes your locks, making them feel deliciously soft.
