Our body's production of vitamin D3 through exposure to UV radiation may decrease considerably in certain conditions or during the dark winter months. This is why a vitamin D3 supplement is in most cases highly recommended, for young (children from 3 years) and old alike, as well as pregnant and menopausal women.
